What actually happened: Dana White launches 'Power Slap,' a slap-fighting competition series for TBS
IDIOCRACY LEVEL: 10/10
UFC president Dana White announced Power Slap in November 2022, an open-handed slapping competition sanctioned by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. It was set to air as an eight-episode series on TBS in early 2023, with rankings and weight classes.
Entertainment tonight: the nation's top cable networks have finally delivered the program we have all been waiting for. Two competitors stand still and take turns slapping each other across the face, and that is the whole show. The sport is officially sanctioned, has weight classes and rankings, and was given an eight-episode run on national television. Producers of 'Ow, My Balls!' reportedly called it derivative.
