COUNTRY APPOINTS COMPUTER TO CABINET, PROMISES 100% LESS CORRUPTION
What actually happened: Albania's prime minister appoints an AI-generated 'minister' to tackle corruption
IDIOCRACY LEVEL: 8/10
In September 2025 Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama named Diella, an AI-generated virtual assistant first built with Microsoft for the e-Albania services portal, to his new cabinet to oversee public tenders. Rama said it would make tenders free of corruption; opposition lawmakers called the move unconstitutional.
From the Halls of Government: Albania has appointed a cabinet member who does not physically exist. Diella began life as a helpful assistant on a government website and has now been promoted to overseeing public procurement. The prime minister promised the robot would make tenders 100 percent corruption-free, while the opposition questioned whether a website could legally be a minister. President Camacho, reached for comment, asked if it could also do his job.
